Sing and Don't Be Silent

Happy New Year!

I’ve felt the urge to write for a long time.  I’ve decided that 2012 is the time to do it. Why not now? I’ve always come up with a long list of other things to get done first.  If I continue to do this, I’ll never get around to writing. So instead of just putting the activities I love aside until later, or waiting for what I think will be the perfect time, I’ve realized I need to incorporate these things into my life now.

I’ve been drawn to blogs because of the way they allow a person to express his or her personality. To me, blogs are like mini magazines. I get to be the editor! What’s better than that?

“Sing and Don’t Be Silent” is a call to action for me. It is a reflection of how I want to live my life. Music and singing is a part of who I am. I think you will find that out as we go along. This blog, though, will highlight a variety of my interests and ideas. Through this blog, I hope to break my “silence.”

So I hope you will step up to the microphone with me.

Together we will sing and not be silent.

Sarah, Looks like you are off to a great start! I admit I don't sing, my family would say luckily but I love country music. I have cowboy boots which my city girl daughter thinks is strange. Looking forward to following you, Laura

Great debut! I think it is exciting starting my blog, and look forward to watching how you develop yours. I love my Tony Lamas. I have had these boots since the late 80's and even created artwork from altered pictures of them! Singing is one of the most wonderful ways there is to express ourselves! Being highly competitive runs in my family. And giving God the glory is perfect! Congratulations on your new blog!
Many blessings,
Susie

"Welcome to the Neighborhood!" Those are the words that one of my favorite bloggers said to me. It gave me such a warm feeling inside. I'm so happy to be able to say it to you. =D

Congratulations on starting your blog! Have fun and don't put pressure on yourself. I do my blog for me. It is my life and what I am dealing with day to day. If others stop by and read it fine, but I never meant it to have lots of followers. I did it for me. A place to record what is happening in my life.
Good luck again!
Hugs,

Hello Sarah, Welcome! I too love country music but I can't sing a note! I do play the piano for others to sing, though! You have a wonderful new blog, best wishes to you. Looking forward to many more good reads from you. :)

By the way, is that a photo of the old Rhyman Opery House in Nashville? I visited there once, after they moved, got to hear Jack Greene sing "There Goes My Everything" at the new building. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

In case others wondered as well, this picture is of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. I was lucky enough to visit it back in 2009 and I took this picture before having the opportunity to stand in that spot. If you love country music, this stage is extremely meaningful!

Hi Sarah,
I found you via your mom, I live in two places, not by choice :) one is southern IN the other Nashvegas ! I love love love the Ryman, "meaningful" is a great description, I'm a "boomer" and cherish "old country" and bluegrass (well I love most all country) The Ryman is a sacred place and I never go out to that "new" place they call the Grand Ole Opry :) If you've never been to the CMA festival (I still call it "fan fair") it's a must. If you do, and you enjoy traditional country Marty Stuart does a "late night show" 10P-2A the Wed night before CMA opens, and it is always at the Ryman and always great. Come on down and welcome to blogland ! E in TN (Elaine)
